Can you dream it?

Glorious morning!
Everyone knows the one who’s quote I chose today. He was a famous amusement park creator and much more. Walt Disney.
“ If you can dream it, you can do it “
He was surely a man who walked his talk. He was born in 1901 and died in 1966. He was an American animator, film producer, voice actor and entrepreneur. You can become an entrepreneur if you do not believe in this simple yet truthful quote. It all starts with a dream. None of what Walt Disney created would have ever been created for the world to enjoy, had he not first imagined it.
This is what separates us from the animal kingdom. We have the capacity to expand beyond our thoughts. Heck we have the ability to think, unlike the animal kingdom as well. Surely a wasted gift if we don't use that amazing human potential that we all get as a gift by being born human. It is a gift to be able to think of something we desire and then create it. If you are anything like me, you have had dreams and aspirations since you were a kid and never quite made them come true. I think especially if we didn't grow up with role models that took us by the hand and showed us the way or at least were living examples.
The simplicity of this impactful quote basically says to me. What you desire, requires your action followed through until it is manifested. So many of us are so wrapped up in our stories that we create with others, we end up with scattered focus and don't spend the actual time and effort it takes to create something and have it come to fruition. Visionaries like Henry ford who invented the automobile and Nicola Tesla who played a pivitol role, if not the entire role in creating electicity. They obviously utilized their human gift to create something from nothing. They happened to manifest their dreams to a degree that changed the very fabric of the whole world. Wow. That all began as a single thought, followed by action towards their goal.
For years I had dreams but allowed my past to keep me limited. I put the care of others on such a high priority, I literally did not have the time in a day to dedicate to myself. A Lot of what fueled my intense drive to help and please others was not just because I have a big heart. When we give more to others at the expense of our own desires, we simply deny ourselves the very love and care we are giving others. That is called unbalanced. To put it more bluntly, it’s a form of slavery. Although no one made me give more of my time and attention to others. I kind of slaved out myself. When we lack self esteem that was created from negative past experiences, and we don't correct and heal it, then low self love dominates our unconscious behavior. I was always trying to earn the love and approval of others and it was exhausting. It was to the ultimate detriment to myself. I just didn't even realize I was doing it. As everybody else's dreams around me were being manifested, mine were not. I eventually started to question this observation. I finally decided to challenge my old habits and ways of being in the world and sought out wisdom from others who had succeeded in their dreams. I started doing daily things that they were already doing in their lives. A daily self care routine was at their core. When I actually stopped denying thyself and started giving to myself the things I needed and WANTED to keep me balanced. I even reconstructed my relationships that needed it even if they didn't like it. It wasn't easy to be ok with someone being disappointed or upset with me, but again, I knew if I kept putting myself aside for the happiness of others, then my own happiness was denied. That is not healthy for either person. It is also not very loving to yourself. When we take control of our lives and make sure we are just as much a priority as we make others, then we will have the self love and time it takes to work on our dreams.
Do you find yourself lost in other people's dreams? Do you struggle with self esteem to the point that you don't follow through with your own personal aspirations? I can help you get on track. Make a free discovery call with me today. Peace be with you, Dawn
