I Am Worth Fulfilling My Dreams!
I Am Worth Fulfilling My Dreams!

Glorious morning!

Today let’s check out and expand on a quote from Russel Simmons.

What hold’s most people back isn’t the quality of their ideas, but their lack of faith in themselves. “

Who is Russel Simmons? He was born in 1957 and is an American entrepreneur, writer and record executive.

What this quote says to me is, if your self worth is low, you won't have the motivation to follow through with your dreams. This all stems from our past. Any characteristic we have today is a result of our past experiences and how much we played an active conscious role in shaping them. If we did not play an active conscious role, then whatever characteristics and behaviors that were displayed to us growing up, is our reality today. If someone grew up with parents that were negative and always pointed out what they were doing wrong, chances are they have lower self esteem compared to someone whose parents were supportive and encouraging. It only takes one moment in time where a parent puts a child down for something that can set a stage of life long feelings of inadequacy. For instance, say a child has an idea to color on their bedroom walls with crayons to make the room more beautiful according to them and is met with a response such as “ What were you thinking! Are you crazy?”

That innocent creative idea the child followed through on, can easily spark a very angry and damming response. A parent reacting that way can send adverse messages to the child that there is something wrong with them. It can send a message that their idea was very bad because it made the parent angry. It can very well dampen or even extinguish the child's natural born creative expression which in turn can stunt the emotional growth of the child.

Now if the parent reacted in a different way such as love and understanding and said “ oh sweetheart I really love the designs you put on your walls and you did a really good job, but let's use paper next time instead, can you do that for me from now on? Yes it can take just one negative experience in our past to alter how we view ourselves. If our self view is not healthy, our tolerance for negative circumstances can increase. Tolerating negative things is the opposite of creating change. If we want good things in our life , like good relationships, good money flow, good health, we must believe we are worthy and deserve them. When someone is depressed, chances are they are not waking up and self motivating themselves to develop their creative ideas. Motivation is the driving force behind human actions. If your driving force is being influenced by old memories of being not good enough or your creative expression is being suppressed, You won't have motivation. Motivation is the second step in getting your creative ideas to come to fruition. The first step is believing you deserve to have all of your dreams come true in the first place. I agree with Russels quote. How about you?

In my own past, I can remember having natural desires and dreams that I wanted for my life, but they never all came to fruition. They remained in my dream state only. One day I demanded more for myself. One day I stood up for my dreams and decided I matter just as much as anyone else on the planet, and if their dreams are coming true, then so can mine! I did need to find out why I allowed my dreams to take a back seat, because we can’t change something if we aren't even acknowledging it. Why was I willing to accept less than? Those questions led me on an important inner journey. I discovered I needed to heal some old negative chapters that played out in my past. When I did that, everything started to change, and most importantly, the faith to believe that I can have all that I dream of.
