Can Loneliness Be A Lack Of Purpose?

Why Am I Here?
Why Am I Here?

Glorious morning!

Today let’s check out and ponder this quote,

"Loneliness is not lack of company, loneliness is lack of purpose”.

I love this quote by Guillermo Maldonado. He is a Honduran-american Pastor and christian author. He also leads a mega church in Florida.

To me this is saying that we are here on this planet for a unique and specific reason and if we do not find out that reason, we suffer. Why do we suffer? If our soul's main mission is to evolve and expand and we are preventing that through avoidance and distractions, then we will experience some form of suffering. One example of suffering is loneliness. We can have a thousand friends, a big beautiful home and travel the world and still have an unfulfilled place inside of us. And that can only be filled by our purpose. Our mission.

We get the choice to ignore that mission with our free will that God gives to us all, but ignoring it will never make it go away. Most of us need to learn the hard way. We, when left to our own devices, usually choose pleasure pursuits like finding a “ soulmate “ to make us feel good or shopping and buying things that we desire. Sometimes we pursue alcohol and the pleasurable effects it can have or marijuana or pills. We can even spend our time working on pleasing others to get a sense of validation because that feels good too.

I had no clue that I was doing those things as an unconscious response to run from the place that needs silence and introspection, the place that needs our free will to even go there. That place is our intuition. It's the still small voice that has the answer to everything in creation. Our divine creator, the voice of that intuition. It is the only way we can tap into our mission or purpose. Mission and purpose is the same thing in my opinion. I started out as a young adult searching for a man to love and honor me. I was sure that would be the answer to this loneliness I was feeling inside. I had a desire to want someone to want me. I wanted this person to validate how lovable I was. I also felt I needed this to be happy. In the beginning I was very happy, as if I found someone who held what I thought at the time was some kind of magic. And he was validating me. Yay! But I came to find there was still a void of dissatisfaction inside of me. All of who I was when I met him, insecurities and all, didn't just disappear, on the contrary, they were patiently waiting for my much needed attention. If we all have a soul mission and we think it's to find someone who will complete us, we miss the mark. No person is our mission.

It wasn't until my expectations of this “ magic man “ kept failing me and my shopping sprees kept failing me, and working out to have a nice shape kept failing me, that I finally woke up to the fact that those things can't fill this little void inside. The thing is, the void will never go away and only grow in  the “ dis ease “ . That “ dis ease “ is the soul basically saying “ You forget to validate me? “  I believe it's humanity's mission to find our individual purpose and then give it away to our fellow brothers and sisters. When we take the time to go within and get quiet enough and ask, we receive our purpose. The journey starts with learning to love and validate yourself, I mean after all, if we don't then we will be on a never ending hunt to find someone or something to do it for us. We must learn all of the God given strengths we have first before we can give them away. When we make our soul happy, that becomes our validation. The validation comes in the form of peace, joy and a feeling of power that we have never felt before, a power that no person can give to us and no material thing either.

Happy mission finding everyone! Do you lack purpose? Do you have an ache inside that you should be doing something else in your life?
