Glorious morning!
Let’s expand together and bring light to the topic of dreams. Not the kind when you are sleeping but your personal dreams for the future. Today’s quote is from my beloved teacher Master Lama Rasaji.
“ Procrastination is the thief of dreams “
That is a short one but very profound when the meaning is explored. First, who is mater Lama Rasaji, and what is a lama? Well a lama means great soul. Master lama rasaji had a near death experience at the age of 11. He started waking up to his mission as a teenager when everyone else was being, well…… teenagers. He would spend a lot of time meditating and reading spiritual books. He eventually met his teacher Master maha lama Bo Yang in New York city while taking his tai chi gung class. Profound experiences with the energy eventually gained him a trip to darchen Tibet with his teacher to train for a couple years. He did not become a Lama right away, that's not how it works. Dedication to the divine and practicing and teaching tai chi gung for decades and mastering those things, afforded him that very special honor and privilege. He has helped my own spiritual growth expand in leaps and bounds. Truly a treasured gift he is to me.
Let’s talk about Procrastination, and boy don’t we all know that pesky word. Procrastination to me is an unconscious choice to avoid what we are afraid of. Everyone’s fears are different according to their formative years. When we experience negative or traumatic things from our childhood, we are not mature enough to understand and process it, that leads to stuffing it away so we can be ok. It’s a natural response to be able to survive in this world. The trouble with stuffing it away is, it's still there, the fears, sadness , anger or grief. I link procrastination to those lower unconscious emotions that have become roommates with us because why else do we put off working on things we desire? You would think if our desires and dreams are fulfilled then we would experience bliss and happiness, so why do we prevent ourselves from achieving the very things that will improve our life? Well what if one of our caregivers growing up said in an angry outburst when you made a mistake “ You idiot! Look what you did! “ That little angry exchange can have a lasting negative impact on our self worth. When we stuff that away it resurfaces when we are adults trying to move forward in the world. We can then experience a false belief that we are not capable or even worthy of making our dreams come true so the motivation we need from self confidence is missing. It is then replaced by low self esteem, well no wonder we don't follow through.
I lived for many years unaware that I was carrying around negative baggage from my past . I was also unaware ( unconscious ) that it was the very reasons that I was unable to follow through with my personal desires in life. I ended up sharing someone else's dream and supporting theirs, and neglecting my own. When I started to focus on me and my wellbeing things started to change. I have now been doing a self care routine everyday to help me connect with my creator and it has made all the difference in my life. I have learned how to love myself. When low self esteem is driving us we can't keep expanding and moving forward. I do tai chi gung daily and that helps me raise my frequency to a level of peace that has transformed my well being. When we are at peace we can make better and more healthy decisions for ourselves. I also walk in nature everyday. That helps ground me, and get clear. I do a little prayer and meditation each day so I can get in touch with my discernment and intuition that we all have access to. I also declare positive affirmations each day. Now that I am cultivating self care and self love, I have the confidence to follow through with my dreams and no longer let procrastination steal them away. Do you struggle following through with things that you want for your life? I can help. Schedule a free discovery call with me today. Peace be with you, Dawn
